going to florida

they pulled the plug on papa joe's ventelator about 3 hours ago....he's still here but barely. they had the machine set to 12 breaths per min. and he was averaging around 16 or so which means some of the breathing was his own giving my family a sense of false hope. he's not going to be here much longer so I'm bussy trying to pack and get Avery packed (what on earth do you pack for a road trip with a 3 week old?)
it's going to be rough driving down with her....we'll have to stop every two hours for feeding and diaper change so I imagine the 16 hour drive is going to turn out to be closer to 24.
wish me luck and patience and avery to be real sleepy

Whatever you do, don't actually pray for patience. If you do, you'll gain it through learning. Best wishes for a smooth trip with the kiddo, and prayers for you and your family during this time.

pack diapers, clothes, extra receiving blankets, extra burp cloths, etc. she's so little you don't have to worry about playpen or anything.

I always pack 2 or 3 outfits per day for babies.

God Bless and take care- drive carefully!

We had a death in our family when Ian was 3 weeks old and Mackenzie was barely 1 year old. We had to drive to Kansas and I actually felt like it went pretty well, considering. I will pray for a safe journey and unfrazzled nerves.

How truly awful. I don't wish for patience for you because I know you already have it. I am wishing for a peaceful passing and a time of rememberence and support for you and your family. Just like in school we have to be tested to make sure we learn the material...this is just one of those test of life :-) Hang in there sweetie I'll be thinking of you.
